Graffiti Images
Lachlan MacDowall has been involved in documenting graffiti and street art since the late 1980s. His photographs of graffiti have been published in journals such as Continuum: Journal of Media and Cultural Studies and Architectural Theory Review. Sixty of his images appear in Uncommissioned Art: An A-Z of Australian Graffiti (Melbourne University Press, 2007).

Copyright
The copyright of graffiti is an interesting research area in itself, with many recent examples of legal disputes over the rights and ownership of graffiti and its image. Images on this site are displayed onk on the assumption that the legal copyright of graffiti in photographs is the property of the artist/s, while copyright of the images resides with the photographer.
