The Joe Morris Archive
The Joe Morris Collection is the first university-held research archive of graffiti in Australia. Through photographs, slides, books, newspaper articles and videos, it documents the development of two decades of graffiti in Australia from the late 1980s. The Archive also showcases the work of the Victorian Association of Youth in Communities (VAYC) Aerosol Art program, which enabled the production of national exhibitions, competitions and publications of graffiti, as well as the completion of hundreds of legal graffiti murals in Melbourne.

Joe Morris was the CEO (1989-1994) and Executive Director (1994-2007) of the VAYC. Th archive was formed by the generous donation of material from the VAYC archives and Joe's personal collection to the Community Cultural Development program in the Faculty of the Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne in December 2007, under the management of Lachlan MacDowall.

The Archive is dedicated to the lives of Melbourne graffiti writers When, Topic and Trance and other writers who have lost their lives.
